Society of Graphic Art

The Society of Graphic Art (renamed Society of Graphic Fine Art in 1986) is a British arts organisation established in 1919.
First formed from membership of the London Central School of Arts and dedicated to the "interests of all those forms of art that do not use colour as a form of expression",〔http://www.sgfa.org.uk/About-the-Society/〕 its first president was Sir Frank Brangwyn. Other members have included Raymond Ray-Jones, Ernest Aris, Dame Laura Knight, and Rosa Hope.
Similar societies were organised in the United States (as the Society of American Graphic Artists, founded in 1915) and Canada (founded in 1933〔http://thecanadianencyclopedia.com/articles/artists-organizations〕 by artists Ivor Lewis and Charles William Jefferys).
